The Old Fort News announces Miss Gertrude Dula as editor and business manager for the weekly publication, issued in connection with the Marion Progress.
The second Allison reunion was held at Ridgecrest last Sunday with a large crowd of relatives and friends. A program of worship in songs and speeches preceded a picnic dinner. Clergy included Rev R L Creasman Haw Creek Rev Mr Truett Swannanoa and W H Allison Lewiston Idaho. Reminiscent talks by L J Allison J R Allison Mrs Ben Allison and Joe Kanipe Old Fort followed. Music by Harrison Eller and his three daughters complemented the event.
A lively group of youth met at the Presbyterian church Sunday evening to organize a Senior Christian Endeavor. Elected officers include Jane McSwain president Betty Crawford vice president Carolyn McIntosh secretary James Bistline treasurer Elizabeth Hansel program chairman Nancy Miller social chairman Dorothy Spencer lookout chairman. All youths over fourteen are welcome to join.
The Woman's Auxiliary of the Presbyterian Church met Tuesday evening at eight o'clock to discuss the upcoming week of services starting July 2 and to form prayer bands for guidance. Circle Nos. 1 and 2 reported interesting meetings, and Home Circle led by Mrs. Hansel held its first meeting last Tuesday afternoon.
The Old Fort town baseball team defeated Marion-Clinchfield Mill 8 to 7 in a close Wednesday game. Friday's return match against Montford Cove ended 15 to 7 in favor of the town team, giving them five wins in six games.
At the Mc Dowell County School Board annual meeting in Marion on Monday, Old Fort residents elected to serve on the Old Fort School Board include J. A. Burgin Wade Davis J. R. Harris P. H. Mashburn and Horace.

Old Fort groups announce Sabbath School at 10 a m for Diloam and Oakdale, Public Worship with Communion at 11 a m for Diloam, Evening service 8 p m, Junior Endeavor 6 30 p m, Young People and Prayer Meeting 8 p m midweek. Little Norma Gosorn has been put to bed again for an indefinite length of time.
