A nostalgic laughter filled piece presents James Whitcomb Riley’s poem Santa Claus Wuz as reprinted in The Old Fort News. The fragment evokes small town holiday lore and family Christmas memories alongside editor notes from MISS GERTRUDE DULA.
The Old Fort Public School Glee Clubs directed by Miss Katherine McCall will perform Thursday night December 18 at 8 o clock in the high school auditorium. The program features sacred patriotic humorous and classic selections with solos duets and group numbers plus Christmas carols to close. About sixty voices from senior and junior clubs will join piano selections by the instructor. The public is invited to attend this worthwhile musical presentation.
Mrs W W LeFevre hosted the Needlecraft Club on Wednesday with Christmas decor brightening the living room. Guests included Mesdames Marley Ingle Smithey Rowe Bradley Silvers Ledbetter Fisher Nichols and Miss Maude Crawford. The next meeting is to be at Mrs H C Fisher's home.
Town buoyed by holiday display as residents urged to keep shopping local. A small fire was reported at the Presbyterian manse Thursday morning, started by a blocked flue at the rear near the roof and extinguished by the local fire company.
