In Lake Success New York an Arab official disclosed the Arab league conditionally rejected the UN appeal for a cease fire in Palestine and demanded disbanding of the state and other guarantees before any halt. The Arab reply was being decoded at 1240 p m as UN deadline neared. Arab delegates cited three unacceptable conditions to accept a cease fire: revoke recognition of the new Jewish state halt Haganah arming and limit Jewish immigration. Washington officials warned no embargo decision yet as Truman weighs further UN action. Secretary Marshall said no imminent action on arms embargo. Dr Weizmann said Truman gave hope arms might be lifted soon. Treasury officials said the Israel loan still not through the proper channels.
