Iowa Republican Delegates Hope for Short Convention
Iowa delegates to the Republican national convention in Philadelphia aim for a swift process, hoping five to six days suffice to select the party standard-bearers. The 23 delegates, many first-timers, travel by car or plane, with Whit ney Gillilland leading the group and Robert Klauer coordinating headquarters. The delegation includes 13 attorneys, two farmers, a publisher, a retired lumberman, and a housewife, averaging 51 years old, with two 32 year olds as the youngest.
