OTTUMWA I A John Morrell and Company plant supervisor C C Campbell faced four charges of assault after a dispute with employees. A second incident led to a threehour sitdown strike by about 100 CID packinghouse workers in the meatcanning department. Police said Campbell was arrested while trying to free night supervisor Frank Dawson from a group of women workers backing Dawson against the wall. Morrell Foster a company vice president said the dispute started when a rest period was cut from 20 to 10 minutes. The sitdown strike followed the suspension of a union and a non union worker for fighting in the plant.
