The 24 year old Geo Campbell was found dead at the bottom of a well on the Charles Chiddister farm in Cennis Township. He disappeared in August last year after reportedly going West. The Convent of the Sacred Heart on 132d Street in New York was consumed by fire. The immense building had about 300 feet of frontage and twin wings. two hundred inmates escaped. Loss estimated at 20,000 dollars with 200,000 dollars in insurance. Careless plunderers blamed for the blaze.
Ashland Pa August 13 This morning William Murray sixteen fell down the slope at the Centralia Colliery and was instantly killed. At the Big Mine Run Colliery Lewis Bartle twenty four was killed and Michael Goblin Hungarian laborer seriously injured by a rush of coal.

In Paris on August 12 General Boulang er rode in an open carriage when Prof Perrin a friend of Mayor Lair and Opportunist candidate fired five times. M Rataplan, Perrin supporter, seized the weapon and was wounded. Boulang er remained unharmed as fighting between factions raged nearby.
Taylorville dispatch reports Frank Green and his stepmother, about thirty, arrested in Decatur Alabama and returned to Taylorville. A warrant was filed by Green’s father accusing them of larceny for taking most of the old man’s furniture.
At Plainville Geo Bradley aged 23 shot and killed Miss Liltie Potter age 22 then shot himself. Bradley had dated Miss Potter but she had lately shown indifference. The tragedy occurred last evening as Bradley fought life in the hospital.
