A. H. Dillon, Elmore township trustee, was shot five times on Main Street by his brother in law Hale. Dillon died after hours of bravely fighting for life. Hale surrendered to police. trial expected soon with emotional insanity plea. Funeral for Dillon held at Mud Pike church with about 2000 in attendance.

Fire destroys Singleton barn near Raguesville
A barn east of Raguesville owned by A N Singleton burned Sunday night between eight and nine o clock. Hay and farm implements were lost. The cause is unknown. The area includes a school building upper room partitioned for a high school. Mrs A N Singleton visited relatives in Washington last week. Local residents attended Watson speaking in Odon. Charley Riggins added an addition to his house.

Plan to revive Southern Indiana Rail Road gains momentum

New Schedule Set for Southern Indiana Passenger Service
The Southern Indiana railroad introduced a new schedule Sunday retaining only two passenger trains each direction Nos 1 and 2. Southbound trains depart Odon at 9 08 a m and 6 46 pm and northbound at 9 08 am and 7 13 pm. Repairs begin on 1300 bad order cars at Bedford and Terre Haute with 400 cars potentially sent to American Car & Foundry Co. in Terre Haute if needed.
