The community endured a long steady rain from about 1 PM Tuesday through the evening with intermittent showers into forenoon. Although prior drought damaged plowing, the timely rain now allows farmers to rush sowing wheat as ground absorbed water without wash damage.
The sixth annual Snyder family reunion will be held in Odon Friday September 5. A large dinner is planned at Heff Grove with a program in the afternoon. Mrs. Rose Hayes and Mrs. Mary Winkelpieck are noted as members visiting Odon. The family wing is mentioned and all attended the last reunion here three years ago.
An application for the parole of John K R Walsh, former Chicago banker, from Leavenworth federal penitentiary, will be presented when the federal board of parole meets September 12. Walsh's attorneys are preparing papers and expect the board to grant parole shortly after.
H. C. Johnson announces his annual piano tuning trip to Odon on September 12 and plans to return each year at this time. He says he knows most piano owners and will call on them, inviting inquiries from musicians or music dealers in Washington. He provides contact at 95.
