Tragic Pony Accident Claims Walter O'Dell

Walter O'Dell, about eleven, died Sunday afternoon after a pony owned by C. & Pershing bolted. His foot snagged in a stirrup, the pony dragged him through streets until his head struck a post, killing him. Funeral Monday at the M E Church with Rev. C C Lowther delivering a tribute. Walter, son of Wm R and Annie O'Dell, was a bright, kind, studious boy and a devoted Sunday School member. He often visited his father's barber shop, shouting Shine, now a memory.

Old Soldier Frank Childs Dies in Washington

Frank Childs, an old Civil War veteran, died in Washington on Thursday. He served in the same company as George Abraham, 8S. A. Taylor, J. P. Taylor, J. Phipps, Wm. Briner and the late Dr. Harvey Taylor.
