Sears Sholtz union ties city and former Oolon resident

Delbert Sears and Miss Wilma Sholtz were married in Terre Haute last Friday. The bride, formerly of this city, has lived with relatives in Massachusetts for four years and is well known locally. Sears, son of Mr. and Mrs Joe Sears of East Odon, works at Odon Milling Co. They plan to live in East Odon. The Odon Drug Co. adds a large holiday display in a newly arranged room with long loadable tables, anticipating more arrivals next week.

Mrs. P A Winklepleck returned Friday for a visit with her daughter Mrs. David Marshall of Robinson.

Farmers Meet in Madison Township Pressing Long-term Goals

The Madison township Farmers Association met Saturday October 4 at 3 p m in the Christian church basement. They plan pig and calf clubs with Russell Ward and T W Summerville selected to organize the pig club. Officials note the movement’s long horizon and potential to influence state and national legislation, urging full farmer participation for ten years ahead.

Thimble Club Holds Farewell Social for Smiley Couple

The Thimble club hosted a farewell party Tuesday for Mr. and Mrs. B. D. Smiley, who plan to move to California. Mrs. Smiley, a charter member, received a souvenir spoon as guests list included N. F. Barkley and others.
