Death of Elmore youth from Spanish influenza at Great Lakes

Whisman of Elnora, 18, died during the Spanish influenza outbreak at the Great Lakes Training School. He had served briefly, was home on furlough, and was a son of S. A. Whisman. Funeral services are set for Sunday at 2:00 PM at the KWOE church. burial arrangements followed.

Obituary or Wedding Report: A Keck Hastings Marriage in Princeton

A. M. Keck of this city and Miss Lara Hastings of Princeton were married at the Brice family home in Princeton with Rev. St John Helstead officiating. The bride, daughter of the late Jefferson Hastings of Burns City, has worked with her brother in Princeton and lately at Indiana Girls School in Indianapolis. The groom, longtime Odon jeweler and optometrist, is a prominent local businessman. A wedding dinner followed and the couple then returned to this city amid a welcome audience and lively celebrations.

Valley View seeds meeting demonstrates selecting care storing corn

Valley View D D Ball County agent led a Tuesday morning demonstration on selecting caring and storing seed corn for planting. Despite a small turnout, Ball outlined diseases of the corn plant and methods to avoid them, plus fertilizing and legume crop notes.

First Regular Rehearsal Sparks S L Band Revival

The S L Band held its first regular rehearsal since reorganization last Monday night with full attendance. Jim Mortland of Scotland will join as a regular member on cornet, boosting the band’s potential. Visitors encouraged the group, business leaders contributed, and patriotic selections plus new instruments and personnel signal a strong concert season ahead.

Clarence McCoy and Mie Ruby Fuller announce their marriage received this week. The ceremony occurred in Richmond last Tuesday. The bride, formerly from this city, has many local friends. The groom, son of J A McCoy, cashier at Farmers Bank of Luis Eagle, attends Indiana Dental College and is described as energetic and capable. They will reside in Indianapolis.
