The Madison committees report a lack of town residents contributing to the United War Funds drive as veterans return home. They urge canvassing to meet the quota and stress the need for moral support and recreation for returning soldiers to prevent negative influences.

County Superintendent Jas. E. Gilley urges teachers to teach right ideals, assign written tasks, and maintain daily records. Reports, attendance under bans, and semester goals are outlined with a focus on health, ventilation, and preparation for January exams. Instructors Byron W. Church members and friends from Mud Pike Pleasant fish and Qdon Us B. churches visited Rev J T Hobson's home to honor Dr and Mrs Hobson for lifelong service to the United Brethren church. They left cash totaling 58 dollars and food valued at 25 dollars with thanks and appreciation for their moral and spiritual work.
