Elizabeth Slaven 83 Dies in Plainville Community

Elizabeth Slaven longtime Plainville resident dies at 83 after a period of illness. Born Elizabeth Graham in Washington township she lived much of her life in Steele township. She was a Christian church member and blind for five years. Grandson Isimurod Slaven, school principal, attends the service. Funeral Monday at her home with Rev. C H Buchnan officiating. Burial in Plainville cemetery.

Funeral for Loogootee Man John M. Brown at Christian Church

Elder C H Buchainnan of this place officiated the funeral for John M Brown of Loogootee aged seventy who died of dropsy. A Christian church member and Odd Fellow, he was laid to rest in the Loogootee cemetery after services at the Loogootee Christian Church.

Democrats Celebrate Wilson Victory with Jubilee Display

Democrats celebrated President Wilson's election with a loud jubilation on Main Street. A parade of firecrackers, a mock Fourth of July scene, and a crowd of about a thousand youths aided by tin horns created festive chaos as visiting towns lent a hand.
