Farmers weigh Odou institute plans for fall

Farmers are urged to decide on holding another Farmer's Institute at Odou this fall. A meeting is set for tomorrow Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Journal Office to gauge interest and determine if the institute will be organized, with old papers for sale at 5 cents.

Many ballots spoiled in Barr township election

Washington Democrat reports many voters failed to mark the ballot correctly in Barr county.131 ballots were invalid because voters placed an X in the square beside the first elector rather than the party emblem circle. Of the 131, 28 were Democrats and 53 Republicans. 21 voters resided in Barr township.

Joint meeting planned for Northern and Southern Indiana teachers

At Indianapolis, the state, town and city school superintendents met with executive committees of the Northern and Southern Indiana Teachers associations. They decided to hold a joint meeting next spring at Indianapolis, expected to draw about 6,600 teachers. It will take place April 1 2 and 3.
