Ben Hur Society will vote on new by laws after last Friday’s approval of Mr and Mrs B D Smiley. Tonight’s meeting features the Ben Hur Orchestra March and Waltz performances, vocal and violin solos, and a Schoitische Ben Hur Orchestra. Full attendance is urged to discuss several bylaw points.

Mrs. Dorie Craig received a 21000 check last Monday from the Supreme Tribe of Ben Hur, the insurance her husband held at his death. Mr. Craig joined Ben Hur last spring. dues total 37.95. Before death he received sick benefits. total policy cost listed as 31.9 percent. This marks the second death claim paid in a month for Qodon Court, the other being Littleton Bennett's policy.
Wednesday afternoon at three o'clock Elmer Myers married Bertha Dow at the bride’s East Main Street home with Rev. S. L. Todd officiating. Bertha is the youngest Dow daughter and Elmer a prominent Epsom farmer. they will reside in Epsom.
The Ladies Aid of the U B church will hold a market beginning the day before and on Thanksgiving Day offering provisions for your dinner. See them for your meal needs.
A local notice states the bank safe was not lost due to full insurance with Fidelity & Casualty Co New York. It warns burglars cannot insure cash held at home and recommends keeping money in First National Bank of Odon with a deposit total of 115000.
Reported results show Washington across the state ticket led by Robert Russell winning the GOP ticket, Indianapolis favored Charles Bookwalter by a large majority, Terre Haute reelects James Lyons over Edwin J. Bidaman, Linton sees Camden C. Riley as first Republican choice, Ohio party balance to Pattison with wide plurality, plus local races in Elnora with several officers elected amid contested votes and varied ward trustees. Local race in this area saw no political issue impact.
Odon Coasted Newberry 17 to 5 after a rugged game. Captain Sipes injured early forced a first substitution in team lineup. Sumner Alexander scored two early touchdowns with Kinnaman kicking both goals. Greggs carried for a late touchdown as Odon led 12 5 at half. Newberry used reserves and weight advantage but failed to convert a second half score.
Miss Christena Jane Cummings and Ira Spencer Brown wed in Grand Hotel parlors with Elder C H Buchanan officiating. Attending were family from Bedford and Cincinnati including Mrs J W Cole and Mae Brown. The couple plans to live at the Grand Hotel while establishing a new home.

Mrs. Matilda Ketchem widow of Jos A Ketchem died at her home east of Elnora on Thursday evening November 2 aged sixty eight from heart failure. Funeral at home by Eld E A Elmore with burial at Friendship Cemetery Saturday. Norman Jennings Johnson of Mud Pike died Sunday evening November 3 of bowel inflammation after a few hours illness. Burial at Friendship Cemetery Monday.
