Aged resident Mrs Williams passes in West Odon

Mrs. Madera Williams aged and respected resident of west Odon died Wednesday morning from paralysis. She lived in Daviess County most of her life and was a lifelong member of the Christian church. Survived by three brothers, several relatives, and friends, a service will be held at a local church.

Fire Destroys Residence Near Town

The home of A. M. Stickles, about two miles east of town, burned last Monday along with several outbuildings. Neighbors spotted flames at six o’clock and alerted the fire department, but the structure were soon destroyed. The Stickles family was away. no injuries reported. The origin is unknown and the loss estimated around 3500, partly covered by insurance. The town is applying oil to streets to curb dust.

Ruth Louise Graber Dies at Seven in Washington

Ruth Louise Graber daughter of Dicie and Albert Graber of 314 Pearl Street Washington died Tuesday May 9 at home from inflammatory rheumatism. Funeral services were held from the residence yesterday morning with Rev Hall of Plainville in charge and burial followed at Washington. She was over seven years old at the time of death.

Friends and relatives gathered at James Johnson’s home last Monday to honor Mrs Cynthia Leach on her seventh birthday anniversary. She is noted for her strength and activity, joining a fern hunting and fishing expedition in the afternoon and traveling the hills and woods with ease.
