Mrs. Jane Bechtel Dead in Madisoa Township

Mrs. Jane Bechtel wife of Aaron D Bechtel a prominent Madisoa farmer died last Friday at her home from dropsy of the heat She was born in 1856 and was 55 She leaves five living children Nannie Pew James M Jacob H Olin Fay and Zalu Sipes plus five grandchildren a sister and two brothers Funeral services were held at Mt Olive Baptist Church Sunday at eleven rev Isom Beasley officiating and interment followed

Robbery at Washington Prompted by Silent Break-In

A thief broke into W. H. Boone’s hardware store in Washington Friday night, stealing 250 to 875 in knives and safety razors. Entry was gained by removing a rear window pane, a small footed burglar leaving footprints. Lee Warner of Memphis, a 16 year old, is jailed in Mitchell on robbery and burglary charges after identification by Boone.

Death of John Crawford at East Odon

Shoots Husband At Supper in Jealous Tragedy

William Ping, manager of a local clothing store, was fatally shot by his wife as he ate supper. She then shot herself, injuring but not killing herself. The young wife, about twenty, left a farewell note and faced a grave prognosis.

Stibbins Boys Acquitted In Greene County Murder Trial

A Greene county jury acquits Slater Edward and Ray Stibbins of murdering their father George W. Stibbens after a tense verdict read at 5 15 Sunday morning. Judge Henderson had ordered no demonstrations as the crowd reacted with approving applause despite the admonition. Foreman Emmett Wright delivered the sealed verdict to Deputy Clerk M G Kessick.

Court Appoints Board of Review for 1912 Officials Named

Judge J W Ogden announces the county board of review for 1912 with R H Bell of Washington township and Willard Bowman of Madison as freeholding members.
