Pioneer Resident Sarah Rosenbury Dies at Home
Mrs. Sarah Penrod Rosenbury, a long time Van Buren township resident, died last Thursday at her daughter’s home after a four year Paralysis illness. She was born January 11 1840 in Tuscarawas Ohio and married Josiah Rosenbury in 1864. The family includes eight children and many grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Pleasant Hill church with Rev Fouts officiating and burial followed at Walnut Hill.

The home of Nathan Killian in Plainville was burned Monday afternoon in a likely roof fire started by the flue. Most household goods were saved though the residence was damaged. insurance covered the structure.

James Gardiner Dies At Home Near Odon
James Gardiner, a 74 year old resident of Martin County, died of pneumonia at his home two miles south of Odon last Wednesday night. He was born in Martin County and moved here about a year ago. He had seven children from his first marriage and two more with his second wife, who survive, along with his wife. He was a member of Mt Calvary M E Church and the Loogootee IC O F lodge. Funeral arrangements were not made at the time of reporting.
