William Asbury Williams dies after heart trouble

William Asbury Williams of Burns City dies at home last Wednesday from heart failure. A prominent farmer, he was born in Martin County in 1955 and grew up in the Burns City area. He was married twice, had three children Herschel Johriam and Mrs John Sargent, and leaves relatives including siblings and grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the Burns City Christian Church by Rev. H Buchanack with burial at Williams Cemetery.

Bricker Receives Heavy Sentence For Interstate Crimes

Carl V Bricker of Burns City appeared before Judge Anderson in Indianapolis for multiple charges. He received the heaviest sentence of the day comprising one year on postal violation charges and three years for transporting a stolen automobile in interstate commerce. Bricker, accused of stealing government checks and an auto, traveled the West before being captured in Arizona after sheriff gunfire.

Wm Bricker of Colorado visiting friends and attending to matters. Miss Helen Howell of Odon visited relatives here last week. Mr Mrs Alf Beasley hosted by Dennis Riggin s. Mrs Susan Lamb spent two weeks with Joe Lamb and family near Eaglesville. John Maryfield family were guests of Chas Plummier and family. Mrs Ethel Osborn visited Ina Stafford.

Swine Breeders Meet at Washington Indiana March 1921

The Daviess County Swine Breeders Association holds its annual meeting at City Hall Washington Indiana on March 1 1921. Program includes morning talks on the purpose of the association feeds and feeding herd management and a noon business session. An open invitation to join and organize breeder groups, with a second session scheduled for March 15.

Southern Indiana Band Opens Event at First Christian Church

Opening concert last Friday by the Southern Indiana Band in this city drew a splendid audience at the First Christian Church. Sousa's Stars and Stripes Forever started an hour and a half program of classics, waltzes, and popular numbers ending with a chorus and readings by Will Barr and Master Harry Herman Bunch. J M Winkelpieck presented a twenty dollar check, and the band, with twenty two members, has several engagements booked for early spring.

Married in Illinois Sees Miss Jolliff Wed Mr. Weaver

Word has reached here of the marriage of Miss Ethel Jolliff of this city to Chase Weaver of Charleston. The ceremony occurred in Charleston last Wednesday. Miss Jolliff is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Jolliff. Weaver formerly lived here, where he worked with the Indiana Power Co. They will reside in Charleston where Weaver is superintendent of the Central Illinois Public Service Co.
