Two months before spring town election trustees clerk treasurer and mayor are to be elected. Oden residents see to it good officials are chosen. Reports cover town board meeting, water works plans and ventilations, plus Lent observances and pensions aid.
The Elvora saloon dispute resumes in the county commissioners court next week. Charles Granger has applied for a saloon license in the Sipe building at Elnora and has filed withdrawals for 45 signers of a remonstrance against saloons in Elmore township. A remonstrance against Granger has not yet been filed but will be later.
The Bloomfield News lists current prices for crops and livestock including corn at 25 cents per bushel, potatoes at 25 cents, oats, timothy hay and different horse classes with varied value, cattle and hogs graded by age and class, sheep and poultry rates, seed and fiber prices, and syrup and sugar items.
