Former Odon Woman Flora Webster Dies in Champaign

Flora Webster a former Odon resident died in Champaign Illinois Tuesday February 27 after a tumor operation at Bernam hospital. Born 1875 she would have been 42. Survived by two sons Herbert and Ralph her father S R Callahan five sisters and two brothers. Funeral services were held February 28 at the M E church with burial at Weariat Hill.

Birthday Surprise for Iris Holt in Suis settlement

Nearly forty neighbors surprised Iris Holt on his sixty second birthday at his Suis settlement home southwest of ten. The party, planned to remain hidden, began with a stringed orchestra near his window as he wrote a letter, awakening to the celebration. An American Hustler at Star theater by Odon high seniors

The Senior class of Odon high school presents An American Hustler a four act comedy drama tonight at Star theater. Rehearsals finished with high promise, aiming to raise funds for commencement expenses with any surplus supporting the library and laboratory fund.

Aged Woman Sarah E Wallingford Dies at 79 Near Newberry

Mrs. Sarah E Wallingford died at her daughter Cora Roach's home near Newberry after a long illness. Born March 17 1838 in Monroe county she was the widow of Squire M Wallingford and mother to Ennie W Morgan Henry M John FE and Josephine. Four of her seven children survive and the service was led by Rev J W Trowbridge at Good Hope M E church with burial in Walnut Hill cemetery.

Ralph H. Greene and Miss Zibbie Cranning, a well known Elnora couple, wed at the Washington courthouse Monday morning. The bride, granddaughter of Jas. Mize, formerly lived in Edon. Greene works in railroad service, son of Teel Greene, E and I Railroad section man. They plan to reside in Edlora.

Joseph Myers a longtime Elnora resident and former school janitor died Friday noon after a long cancer battle. He was 54, native of Daviess county, married to Maggie Williams, with no children. Last Lecture Course Presented by Ye Olde New England Choir

The Ye olde New England Choir performs the final lecture course number at the Christian church on Thursday March 8. The costumed program traces four centuries of song from Pilgrims to modern times with four periods Rutiran Colonial Abolitionist and Modern. School notes on exams and teacher expectations in early district

The notes urge trustees to require full-year reports from teachers before pay, praise high school preparation, and push for skilled township institutes. Examinations are scheduled for March 17 in all townships except Washington, with trades finals March 6 and 9. Washington township finals occur about a month later. A February 24 institute in Eaglesville hosted by principal Walter Stuckey is noted.
