Olive Goldenummerville and Fred J. Toon, both noted local youths, were married Tuesday at Lone Oak in Burns City with Rev C H Buchanan officiating. The couple will reside on the Toon farm near Burns City.
Paris Godwin a prominent Elmore township resident died at his son's home near Riversde aged about eighty. The remains were interred in Fairview cemetery.

A Sunday ceremony at John W. Rink's home in Plainville united Harrison McBride with Bertha Katrine Allen and Edgar Clay Hedden with Eva Lena Smith. Rev. C H Buchanan officiated at noon, guests attended a bountiful dinner, both brides wore blue silk with overlace, and both couples plan to reside in Steele township and Plainville respectively.
Seymour Marshall and John Nichols, both of Burns City, have announced as candidates for Auditor of Martin county. Marshall previously served as county treasurer and both are well known locally. Lees Egg Maker is advertised as a poultry remedy by Odow Drug Co.
Robert Walker, Montgomery marshal for about a year, was shot in a pool room by John Healy and his son Harry after a dispute. Healy and his son were arrested by Sheriff Harmon and jailed for investigation. Walker died Tuesday morning at 8 40 after being shot in the head. the weapon a Harrington West .32 caliber was traced through witnesses to the Healys. Walker left a wife and four year old daughter Ida Adeline.
Martin county sheriff arrested Leonard Lee, twenty, after a six week old free-for-all at a Burns City area church. He faces charges of assault and detailing a religious meeting and is jailed at Shoals for alleged attack on Reverend Perry Key during a BS protracted meeting.
The Iowa state superintendent distributed 131 338 16 from the tuition deficiency fund to 165 school corporations in 32 counties. Adjusted requests totaled 156 483 20 after corrections. The aid extends five days of term. Daviess County received 956 21.
Charles A Greathouse state superintendent and a state Teachers Association committee member reports Missouri has long abandoned county institutes replacing them with a summer school for teachers and a three day fall meeting. Evans notes the plan proved satisfactory and Greathouse believes Indiana should consider abandonment if a good substitute is found.
A Daviess circuit court jury awarded George Hoffman 4506 dollars against the K and T railroad after a cut of cars struck a street car at the Second street crossing in Vincennes injuring Hoffman. Attorney for the railroad, Gardiner Tharp and Gardiner, will file a motion for a new trial.
