Stanley Walter, a well known young farmer north of Odon, wed Miss Iva Mace Martin of Moral township Shelby county Sunday. Rev Alphonso Burns officiated at the Fairland Christian church. Mrs Walter is daughter of Geo W Martin and a pioula young lady. The couple will reside on the farm north of Odon with Walter’s family ties linking to Deputy county clerk Will Walter.

Made A Good Haul By Odon Club At River Bed

A fishing club of Odon businessmen secured a permit and fished Friday evening north of Elnora under Deputy Fish and Game Commissioner Story. Two drags yielded about six hundred pounds of lawful fish, marking the season opener with wide local turnout.

Trouble in Pike over county superintendent election

Andrew Jewell, a socialist, was elected county superintendent on June 5, prompting five Republican township trustees to swear affidavits alleging they did not vote for Jewell on ballot No. 104. Trustees Warrick Coleman Ed Blake Clem H Tislow Will C Hoggatt and Elden Besley signed affidavits. The five claim votes were miscounted by Whitehead, with the matter to go before the grand jury in July.

Injury May Prove Fatal to 12 Year Old in Explosion

Laverne Courtney of Elnora, age twelve, was injured when a Fourth of July display exploded a glass bottle. The shard pierced a lung near the heart after the blast sent fragments in all directions. Doctors feared for his life and postponed removal of the glass due to its proximity to the heart as his condition worsened.

Auto breaks down near Newberry causes repair

An auto driven by Dr. Selfridge of Eaglesville broke down Tuesday north of Newberry when the engine ran out of oil. The failure forced a repair, and the vehicle was towed to the teeper garage by Geo. Henderson and Lel Cooper where the break was fixed Tuesday evening.
