Weaver Promoted to Oversee Expanded Indiana Power District

C E Weaver district manager for Indiana Power and Water Co. has been promoted to manage a larger region including Bicknell Edwardsport Bruceville Plainville Odon Elnora and Newberry with one district office at Bicknell. The main office remains there and the local office will serve as an auxiliary. Weaver will spend most time at Bicknell but live here and is praised as one of the firm’s oldest workers.

Electrical storm causes crop damage and livestock loss

A Tuesday afternoon storm brought severe wind and lightning across the county, destroying crops and injuring trees. John Mumaw lost two registered cattle struck by lightning, while the Lane residence suffered house damage via telephones and lighting as the storm knocked out many lines. The report notes wheat damage and widespread telephone outages.
