County Commencement to Be Held in Washington Next Saturday
The Daviess County commencement exercises and school rally will take place in Washington next Saturday. About 105 graduates and over 400 pupils will participate, with a parade at the south lane of the courthouse followed by a pageant, intermission basket dinner, music by the Washington High School band, an invocation by Rev. L F Sarcent, and addresses by L A. Stone and diplomas presented by James B. E. Gilley.

Windstorm Devastates Town With Roof Loss and Trees Down
A severe windstorm swept through the community early Tuesday, blowing down buildings and uprooting trees. The Odon Drug Company roof was damaged, stores lost contents, and a Dillon farm barn collapsed killing two cattle. Roads were blocked by debris, timber was destroyed southwest of town, and the city park suffered extensive tree damage.
