Benjamin Franklin Dean a Crawford County Indiana resident died June 4 1921 from complications of diseases at age sixty eight He was born April 28 1853 in Pendleton Kentucky and married Margaret Fields He leaves children Charles Rufus Herman and Mrs Elen Lamb plus brother James Dean and sister Mrs Jane Fields The funeral was at Union Church with Rev M P Herron.
Ralph Seal and Henry McGriffin suffered serious injuries when the Ford they rode in collided head on with an Oldsmobile on a city road. Their companions Win Farren and Ray Howard also injured but less severely. all occupants were removed to hospital as crews tended them. The wreck left both cars badly damaged and the drivers shaken but recovering.
In a standout clash Lyons fell 5-2 to Udon as Wall’s squad delivered a strong performance. Local star Guite led the visit with a promising effort amid the tense Sunday matchup.
The Knights of Pythias and Independent Order of Odd Fellows plan memorial day events next Sunday. They will meet at Walnut Hill cemetery at 2 30 pm to decorate graves and hold a program at Good Hope Church with invites to the public.
