Big Southern Indiana Band Concert Draws Thousands in Linton
The consolidated bands of Southern Indiana held a major concert in Linton drawing about 10 000 spectators. Special trains and extra coaches were run to accommodate crowds with the parade and afternoon concert under an open tent. Prof W S Coffey of Spencer directed the event. Bedford plans a July 4th show expected to attract 25 000 and will run special trains.

Mrs Sarah Taylor Dies at 57 Near Odon
Mrs Sarah Taylor wife of the late Rev Ed Taylor died at her home three miles east of Odon on Wednesday afternoon from tuberculosis. She was 57 and survived by four children, three sisters in Ohio, and was a member of the United Brethren church. Funeral held at Union Chapel east of Odon at two this afternoon with Rev D P McCoy officiating. burial in Union Chapel cemetery.

The Town Trustees held their regular meeting Tuesday night appointing Wilson Keck to replace G W Henderson and A A Lane to fill the remainder of T B Rankin's term. The marshal was ordered to repair the Sycamore street sewer near Dr Mitchell's property and bids for town property hay were to be advertised by City Attorney E T Laughlin. Claims allowed included H A Taylor $8.20 for lumber G W Henderson $34.80 for street oiling Myers Light and Power $75.65 lighting streets Odon Journal Printing $1.00 Keck and Caughey $38.58 and Wm Summerville $30.00 salary for the marshal.

Thrown From Buggy In Town Injury Details
Charles Isenogle and William Richard, sons of Scotland, and Miss Lizzie Malone were thrown from a buggy and bruised while driving in town Sunday evening. Five youths rode in the buggy. Amy Overton and Hazel Borders were uninjured. They had visited Miss Malone and started toward town when the horse turned at a crossing and the driver pulled the lines, throwing three from the buggy. None suffered serious injuries.

Miss Lettie Wadsworth Heads Nurses Toward War Zone
Miss Lettie Wadsworth of Van Buren township plans to depart June 12 to nurse the wounded in the war zone. She will join a Chicago group of 75 nurses and 34 doctors sailing June 17 to Europe under Dr. Neff and Dr. Murphy. The unit will operate independently of the Red Cross and head to England to run a new hospital. Miss Wadsworth is the daughter of the late John Wadsworth, former Daviess county treasurer.

Barr farmer Thomas McKnight dies after illness near Montgomery
Thomas McKnight a prominent county farmer died at his home near Montgomery Tuesday morning after months of Brights disease. He was 63, born in Da viess county, married Sarah Osborn in 1874, and is survived by his widow and two children Cora Wilson and George McKnight. He belonged to the Christian church and Montgomery lodge of Odd Fellows. Funeral held Thursday at Antioch Christian church with Rev. C. H. Buchanan officiating and Odd Fellows lodge in attendance.
