Fourth of July Concert At Bedford Draws Wide Band Ensemble
The Consolidated Bands of Southern Indiana will give a grand concert at Bedford on Sunday afternoon July 4 with bands from Clay City Patricksburg Worthington Odon Gosport Bloomington Linton Jasonville Bowling Green Cloverdale and Spencer. A 25 000 crowd is expected and a special fifteen coach train from Clay City will arrive around 10 am. The Bedford Merchants Association funds the event and a 10 acre grove hosts a new band stand for 20 musicians. The city of about 12 000 is noted for its stone industry powered by a plant ten miles away and Bedford will showcase hospitality and pride for Independence Day.
