Fire destroyed the town nail building at Raglesville and several outbuildings last Friday. The blaze began in an oil house and spread to nearby structures but snow helped prevent further damage. An oil tank explosion sent debris over 150 feet. no injuries reported and the gas loss hit the insured stable hardest.
The troop moves into a new K Hall base with repairs by Scouts, a temporary bookcase, and a staff room used for meetings. The large room hosts Scout practice and basketball as President Wilson appoints every Scout as a wartime government messenger. Scouting youths will gather readers to spread government literature and pass it along.
The last heavy freeze related to the snow storm caused damage around town. The Indiana Power and Water Co. office front was forced outward and glass broken. Many pavements are uneven and roofs suffer from snow and frost leaks.

The body of Roland D. Winkelpleck who died in Phoenix Arizona was laid out at the Winkelpleck residence here Wednesday afternoon. The funeral, delayed by a heavy snowstorm, was conducted by Rev. Word has been received of the death of Mrs Geo Raichart at seventy two. Cause listed as old age and general debility. Former resident of this community, widely known in the county. She left about twenty years ago and lived in Texas since. Friends regret her passing.
Word has been received of the death and burial of Captain Samuel Hargrove Past Master of Union Pike Co He will be remembered for his pleasing personality by many old comrades and friends made in our city last October while secretary of the 60th Indiana regiment reunion.
