Madison Poor Nan Dead in Township
Madison Poornciao a well known resident of the township passed away at home last Monday at one o clock death caused by paralysis after years of declining health. Born March 20 1935 in Mearrean County he moved to India at four and spent most of his life in agriculture. Surviving are five daughters and two sons including Mrs Berth Sheenan Monroeville Indiana and Mrs Blanche Trur blood Champaign Illinois plus Mrs May Brown Akron Colorado and William Barry local resident. Funeral held at the Methodist church in iplessille Wednesday.

Milton Hinkle Civil War veteran dies at Soldiers Home
Milton Joseph Hinkle, born November 6, 1838, died January 6, 1922 at the Soldiers Home in Lafayette Indiana after general debility. He served four years in the Union Army and left four living children John A. Hinkle Isa L. Standley Minnie A. Sanders and Lee A. Hinkle. Burial followed a funeral at the Standley home conducted by Rev Chaver at Cornettsville.

A large blaze in Newberry early Thursday damaged two businesses and the Red Men hall, destroying Van Crooke’s restaurant and O B Laughtin’s jewelry and drug store along with the hall above.
