A Christmas Day social at Mr. and Mrs. Jake Summerville across the line in Martin County drew about twenty attendees. They enjoyed a turkey dinner, singing, and a post dinner gathering, then visited Boros City church exercises and later John Summerville's home for further revelry. Fresh roasted peanuts were served. A separate ad promotes Chamberlain's tablets for stomach relief and a note about Green's August Flower as a remedy, with distribution through Z Webbearer. Also an immigration ad for Frisco System lands in Oklahoma, offering favorable farming opportunities via rail.
William Laughlin of Elnora died at home Monday night from general debility. He was about sixty, employed at the I. I. Ry pumping station and a member of the Masonic and Odd Fellows lodges. Survived by a wife and several children. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon with burial in Elnora cemetery.
