Mrs Wright Diad In Plainville Obituary

Emily Wright died at 2 30 am Saturday at her daughter’s home in Plainville. Funeral service was held at the Methodist church in Plainville with burial in Plainville cemetery. Born March 5 1845 in Washington County she moved to Daviess County in 1860 and married John C Wright who died January 31 1866. Survived by two children Edward Wright and Mrs Millis both of Plainville four brothers and one sister. She was a member of the Plainville Methodist Episcopal church.

Armstrong Porter Tie The Knot At Terre Haute

Dwight Armstrong and Miss Clarice Porter were married in Terre Haute last Wednesday. Porter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm Porter of near Blackenship, is well known and formerly led the S. E. station at Blankenship. Armstrong, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Armstrong of near Berns City, is a fireman on the South eastern. They will reside at West Clinton.

Ligget Selected Secretary of Boston Chamber of Commerce

L. K. Ligget president of United Drug Co and head of 7000 Rexall stores was chosen secretary of the Boston Chamber of Commerce. He was not a director of the chamber nor from New England and becomes the youngest person ever named to the post.

Voting places named for Daviess county primary

County commissioners designate 34 precinct voting sites for the March 7 primary election with 12 in Washington township. Precinct officers will be appointed by the primary election commissioners on party recommendations. Locations include Odon Madison and Eel River areas, Eaglesville, Plainville, and Elmore with several school buildings and local shops listed.

Death of Huett J Seegers One Year Old at Bogard

The infant Huett J Seegers of Bogard Township son of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Seegers died last Monday at age one year six months from pneumonia after prolonged illness. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W H Thompson at Plainville with burial in Plainville.

Immense crowds filled Mt Church as Rev. Elwood Bulgin spoke on temperance in a two hour address titled Bulgin on Blackstone and Booze. Ezra Mattingly of Washington led the meeting, praising Bulgin and arguing against saloons during a long, orderly event.

Prominent Citizen of Newberry Dies in Greene County

Alex Neff a respected Newberry citizen and Greene county pioneer settler died last Sunday. Born in New York City he came to Newberry as a child and spent his life there. He learned the milling trade built a fortune and invested in grain stock and land in Greene and Daviess counties. He is survived by four sons and two daughters. The funeral was held Monday afternoon.

Miss Nell Lane purchased the half interest of Miss Birdie Keller in Keller and Williams Millinery. The stock moved to the Garten Building on South Spring Street opposite Bairs Studio and the firm will be ready to open at the new location. Miss Williams and Miss Lane left for Indianapolis to attend a millinery opening there.

Indiana Schools Observe State Products Day in 1916

In Indiana on February 22 1916 schools celebrate Indiana Products Day. Attendance at Sugarland school reached 100 percent last week. Teachers report stum bling blocks in physiology history and agriculture and note pneumonia illness among Cunningham school teacher Bernadette Hopkins. A noon lunch was served at Sugarland with ten cents per plate and fifty four served. The piece urges fire drill compliance and clarifies township high school authority with the county superintendent.
