Former Treasurer George Godwin won the Republican county central committee vote over Earl Thompson of Washington at a largely attended meeting in the court house. Thomas Nugent chaired as retiring leader and a new committee will be formed to organize for the primary election.
Jurors for the February term were drawn at the clerk’s office. The grand jury will be called into session by Prosecuting Attorney Flavisa A. Seal. The docket includes investigations tied to recent high finance reports and the arrest of Theodore Keller, with additional infractions expected to be examined. Grand Juries list George Holstine Patrick Sinnott William Hamilton Patrick Flynn William Tomey Francis Bradley. Petit Jury members include Janes C. Mrs Elizabeth Allen 64 known local resident was found dead in bed at the home of Mr Gantz in Spencer. She had been ill and complained of not feeling well the day before. Coroner Holder ruled rheumatism of the heart as the cause. She leaves six siblings including Dr Thomas Gantz Homer Gentz and Dr Richard Gantz. Funeral arrangements were not listed.

Christopher Flynn died Tuesday at 10 30 at his brother C B Flynn’s home after two weeks illness from double pneumonia. He was a bachelor age 56 with two brothers Jacob and C B Flynn and a sister Mrs Myers of Raglesville. Funeral services were held Wednesday in Raglesville at 2 30 with Revs Denbo and Todd, Mason lodge attended, interment in the local cemetery.
John R Walsh former banker had his will refused admission to probate by assistant probate judge Rainey. Mary Walsh widow inherits the entire estate and may be named administratrix. Attorney Abbott testified Walsh may have been hallucinating when signing the will, influencing the court’s decision.
Julian Smith of Van Buren township owns a Ben Gaul razor once used by Indiana governor Blue Jean Williams. Smith traded Joseph Adams of Alfordsville for the relic years ago in a deal including a fish bonus. Adams had received the razor from a son of the former governor.

Neeremer. 2nd precinct Edw Hubbard. Democratic precinct O. G. Correll. Gov. D. Abraham and Charles Watson named delegates to the Worthington convention on the 31st, with O. O. Laughlin and C. E. O'Dell as alternates.
M O Pate and son Louis spent Saturday night with J L Pate and family at Loogootee. No mine work Monday due to bad roads. WT B Anderson and T N Jackson southeast of here did business at Odon Saturday. A group of locals attended a Shiloh meeting Saturday evening. Sunday weather kept most at home. Born to John Be Pate and wife at Mankato on January 25 a job. Mass meeting of Republicans of the township named Parsons committeeman for the forthcoming period.
Dora Lechner a Washington domestic attempted suicide Friday night using rough on rats poison. The note to parents blamed her former sweetheart Bowers, who claimed no responsibility. Lydis Swing said Lechner feared a broken date with Bowers. A physician was summoned as the poison was weakening, and the rat poison had lost much of its potency.
Rev. M K Dyer native of Armenia delivered an Oriental lecture at the Christian Church. He spoke on oriental customs and phenomena, noting many examples that impressed the audience with intellectual insights and pleasing detail.
