John W Burrell Dead A Respected Local Citizen

John W. Burrell died last Monday at 5 30 at his North Spring street home after a long illness of general debility. He was about 87, born January 3 1829 in Muscary county Ohio and lived in the area most of his life. He worked as a cabinet maker, ran an undertaker business, served as Madison township constable and supervisor, and belonged to the Methodist church and Wi Q O F lodge. Survived by six children, his funeral was at the Methodist Church with Rev L B Spoor and Rev A C Trusty officiating.

Sefrit Resigns as Centennial Chairman for Daviess County

Mr. C. G. Sefrit resigns from the post of Centennial Chairman for Daviess County after a brief tenure. The vacancy is filled by the appointment of Professor Hamlet Allen of Washington. A special Christmas show is announced at the Royal Theater for Saturday night. Mr and Mrs J M Winkelpleck were seen in Washington Tuesday.

Revival in Progress at Mt Olive Near City

Rev Felix Goldman of Linton leads a revival at Mt Olive three miles east of the city with strong interest and large crowds. He is assisted by Rev A R Watson of Harrodsburg Pa. A special musical program is planned for next Sunday evening before the service. All are invited to attend.
