Geneva Hindman Dead in Indianapolis Spinal Meningitis

Geneva Hindman four years old, daughter of Mr and Mrs Ed Hindman of Indianapolis, died in a city hospital last Friday after typhoid led to spinal meningitis. Her funeral at M E church was led by Rev F A Lester with interment at Walnut Hill.

Elmore Poultry Show Premium List Released

The third annual Eteora Poultry Show premium list is out with 70 pages of premiums and reading matter. The event will be held in the arena building on Odon Street with Judge Joe Coleman of Lexington Ohio placing ribbons. Oxac P. Hackler serves as secretary and treasurer.

Edward Fisher Killed in Montana Fall

Noah Fisher of near this city received a letter Tuesday reporting the death of his nephew Edward Fisher in a Montana town. The young man fell from a three story window and died instantly. Edward Fisher had lived in Decatur Indiana and the body is being brought there for burial. He was the son of Joseph Fisher and was known in Oden.

House Fire Threatens Town Barn, Feeds Heroic Rescue

Fire swept the east of town house of Elijah Fields on Wednesday morning causing a roof hole. Sparks from the flue are believed to have started the blaze as Fields and his son in law Ed Cox hurried to harness the team and saved the structure through quick action.

Mrs Sargent Dies in Barns City Tuberculosis Claims Life

Mrs Lizzie Sargent a Barns City resident died at her home last Tuesday from tuberculosis aged fifty four. She was born in 1859 married Thomas Sargent in 1884 and had six children Jasper Homer Maxwell and Mrs Hayden Osborn among them. A member of the M E Church since age sixteen she remained active in church work. Funeral services were held at Old Salem with Rev Deubo of Plainville in charge. Burial followed in the Old Salem cemetery.

Redkey Times reports Indiana will observe Honey Day on December 15. George W. Williams, secretary of the Indiana Beekeepers Association, urges all to eat Indiana honey and praise the bees for clover crop pollination and benefits to fruits vegetables and animal products.

Auto Plunges Off Road Near Plainville Three Escapes Unharmed

Auto driven by A J Biddinger with Riley Orrender and Charles Bennett lost control on Portersville road near Rev G B Weeks home. The Cadillac left the road, cleared a ditch and breached a barbed wire fence but sustained no damage. The occupants resumed their drive.

York Pleads Guilty in Malicious Trespass and Assault

George York a farmer four miles east of town pleaded guilty in circuit court to malicious trespass and assault and battery. He was fined 200 and costs in each case. Affidavits were filed by R D McCarter. The attempt to murder clause was dismissed by the prosecutor.

Town Board Holds Regular Meeting Continuation

The town board met to continue the regular meeting and approve listed claims. Payments include election expenses for C E O'Dell and various individuals and institutions, with Dr J DeMotte and Dr J W Ansierton among the higher figures. This was the last meeting of the old town board before new members take office January 1.
