They had been in Switzerland for weeks after Louis learned his brother, a Swiss banker, left an estate estimated at 28000 dollars. All estate matters are settled and he now possesses the fortune. Labor organizations in Washington prepare a monster Labor Day celebration for Monday September 7. Speakers include John H. Spencer and Grant Faith. Several bands will participate as the exercises are held at the old fair grounds.

Miss Elva Grace Killion of Plainville wed Mr Albert Mack of Taswell Indiana August 20 at the bride’s parents home. Ed C H Buchanan officiated with a Lohegrin’s march entrance. The couple plans a trip east and will reside in Oakland City after Sept 15 where Mack will teach.
County Treasurer Godwin receives a letter from W T Abbott attorney for Receiver Carpenter of the Southern Indiana railroad assuring taxes delinquent in Daviess county will be paid. Abbott notes needed labor claims to secure the receiver's credit and possible court borrowing to cover taxes by November.
In Daviess circuit court Dallas Boyd sues contractor John Dobbs of Elnora claiming 187.50 is due for work on a concrete walk system in Jasonville. Boyd seeks a 300 judgment. Attorneys T. M. Sears and Hastings Allen Hastings represent the plaintiff. Old papers offered for sale at 5 cents per bunch.
Washington August 23. Postmaster General Meyer orders free use of the mails for pensioners to return their pension vouchers. This amendment to postal laws and regulations enables unhindered improvised returns.
A bold robbery occurred at Sherman Freeman's saloon in Washington Sunday night. John Hardcastle, a former porter for Freeman, is charged with the theft. About $110, mostly small silver, was taken from the cash register. $75 65 has been recovered. The Freeman family were away visiting relatives in the country. Mrs. Freeman is Amos Stalcup's daughter.
