Large crowds filled the twenty-fifth annual Old Settlers gathering in Odon for a three day homecoming. Trains and wagons poured in while speakers band concerts baseball games and balloon ascensions provided entertainment. Miss IrEn Willinggis won a gold watch after a strong contest as others received prizes and jewelry for their efforts.

Carnahan Sells Hardware Stock
A deal was closed in Washington last week where M. J. Carnahan and H. W. Truebrood disposed of the controlling interest in their hardware business to a new firm formed by H. L. O Donrell J. W Cochran and Arthur S. Barrows with Barrows as president and Cochran as secretary-treasurer while Carnahan and Truebrood retain minor stock and retire from active management. No firm name change is planned at present.

Infant Dead in Virginia Funeral Held at Walnut Hill
The infant daughter of Mr and Mrs Ford Baker died Monday morning after birth on Friday. Doctors cited underdeveloped lungs causing the death. A short song and prayer service was held at the home at ten and the burying took place at Walnut Hill cemetery.

Martin Mallett thirty five from Bogard township has been in Russia since Page 10 employed by the Case Threshing Machine Company of America as a demonstrator of farm machinery. He writes Russia is good for wheat but people are poor and landowners overwork workers. Obituary: Wieln I Zosthe Roothe Daughter in Tragic Loss
Wieln I Zosthe, daughter of Mr and Mrs Mauford Civerton, born at 2 PM and died at her parents home Vue PO TOEO. She was cherished sister to many and widow to Liane Zeteber. Three sons Lovel Po, Melvin Ho, and others mourn her loss. She joined United Brethren Church in Rainesville and remained a member until death. Viola lived a Christian life and leaves father, mother, brother, husband, and many friends.
