Pioneer Citizen Dies After Long Rural Life in County
Joseph Boyd, a well known and respected pioneer, died at his home on Seoth Pros Street last Sunday due to general debility. He settled near Good Hope church after moving with his family in 1847 and later married Elizabeth Fry and Louise Lon, leaving five surviving children and a large extended family. He was active in promoting schools, roads and drainage, living fifty years on Espora farm before retiring to Oden in 1907.

DIES AT AGE OF 92 COMMUNITY'S OLDEST RESIDENT
Mary Jane Myers longtime resident of this community dies at home on Grove Street aged about 92 from general debility. Born January 19 1831 near Cornettsville she married Jacob T. Myers October 31 1850. Surviving children include Cours Meers Lansdale Oklahoma Queen Myers Grennel and Mrs Reason Benquet. sister Lizzie Slinkard Indianapolis. Funeral at M church with Rev Pos May officiating. burial at Cornellsville cemetery.

Mro and Mrs Almer Armstrong and daughter Susan Elizabeth visited from Randolph County at M. C. Pate’s home last week. A daughter was born to Mr and Mrs Lagan Dant of Cast Van Buren on Tuesday the 14th. Dennis Riggins moved to a farm near him from Martin County. A lawn festival at St. Joseph’s church drew a large crowd Wednesday evening. Forest Wadsworth and son Alls of New York City visit relatives here. Aimos Osboro of Burns City fully recovered from mine injury. Jeannie Stafford suffered an eye injury from a piece of ore at the mine. Mrs James A Burris and Mrs A R Overton visited relatives here. Walter Wadsworth took his wife to Olney for a minor surgical operation. A daughter of theirs and a daughter of John Beesley accompanied the trip for medical removals.

Miss Edana Pearl Webster former resident of the Montrose district Terre Haute died last Sunday from typhoid fever complications. Survived by parents William and Mrs Webster a brother Arthur and sister Mamie. Funeral at the Methodist church with Rev Ernest Roberts officiating. Ku Klux Klan ladies group assisted at burial. Burial at Walnut Hill.
