Body of Frank Doane laid to rest after WWI death

The body of Frank Duane, a World War I soldier killed in action in Argonne Forest France on August 17 1018, was laid to rest last Sunday at Walnut Hill Cemetery. A large crowd attended the First Christian church service at 10:30 led by Rev Edwin Shake with Rev R R Cleaver. A complete military burial was provided by Oden Post American Legion. He was about 25 and survived by five brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services held for Mrs. W. W. Moore in Vincennes

Mrs. W. W. Moore died at Vincennes Hospital after surgery for cancer. Funeral services were conducted at Mud Pike church, 10:36 Sunday morning. She was wife of W. W. Moore and mother of four. Burial followed at Walnut Hill Cemetery after the body was moved to her former residence city.

Local obsequies and social visits fill the Plainville region as families attend the funeral of Mrs Acnes Nelswander. Many relatives traveled from distant towns including Siro Williams and Mrs. Walter Williams of Canerville, Austin and family of Elnora, Richard Williams family, Albert Williams family of Indianapolis, QC Hutt of Crothersville, Lee Wil-Butes of Terre Haute, and others. A noon luncheon featured a notable denture of the day. All children and grandchildren attended.

Odon Drug Co Celebrates Fourteenth Anniversary

The Odon Drug Co along with the Chautauqua and Olid Settlers marks its fourteenth year in business in the city. The firm reports improvements this year and notes cash sales fell by 248.08 from last year but remains 21,585.11 ahead of prewar normals.
