Little Girl Killed by Wagon Near Eaglesville

Margaret Crane aged under two was fatally struck by a huckster wagon driven by John Pruett at the Crane home southeast of the city. The incident occurred as children played near the wagon while awaiting Mel Crane’s return. the wheel crushed her head and neck, death instantaneous. Funeral at United Brethren church in Eaglesville conducted by Rev. Robinson. Burials followed at the local cemetery. Additionally Mrs. Joseph Carr was taken to Olney, with her son Rufus Carr accompanying her to the sanatorium for treatment.

Goshorn Ketcham Wedding in Washington

Grace Ketcham of this city wed Frank Goshorn of Steele township last Saturday afternoon at the First Baptist church parsonage in Washington. Rev. Ellis officiated with Miss Britta Ketcham and Mrs Harry Sommers as attendants. The couple will reside on a Steele township farm and be at home after May first.

Trusty Addresses Large Local Ku Klux Klan Meeting

Rev. Allen C. Trusty spoke for over an hour on Klan principles at a Tuesday night gathering in the John Sims Garage. A large audience, well advertised, gave close attention as the former pastor of the First Christian Church in this city for two years delivered his remarks, having come from Washington that Monday.

Junior Senior Banquet At Christian Church Basement

The Senior class annual banquet was hosted by Juniors at the Christian church basement last Friday night. Decorations featured class colors with flowers and lights, and the menu included grapefruit cocktail, baked chicken, and brick ice cream. Speakers included Sup t R R Miller and Carl Porter among others. the evening closed with an indoor track meet.

Farmers Bank President Hurt by enraged Holstein bull

Ernest Killion of Plainville was severely bruised and lacerated after being knocked down by a Holstein bull while leading the animal to water. He was confined to bed with pain and delayed for X rays but no internal injuries or broken bones are believed. His son escaped the bull’s charge.

S S Convention Sunday at First Christian Church

Sixty six Sunday Schools in the county convene at the First Christian church for a three session program starting Saturday night. A big basket dinner with Sunday sessions completes the convention and invites all interested attendees.
