Frescoes uncovered in Alamo restoring Spanish colonial art
Restoration artists Cisi Jary and Pam Rosser have spent a month at the Alamo removing grime to reveal frescoes dating to the Spanish Colonial era in the former sacristy. Found in February after the room reopened, the paintings survived due to lime washes, air conditioning, and low insect activity. The Daughters of the Republic of Texas hired the team, which also worked on Utah’s Capitol, to document and report before deciding on future display or preservation steps.
