Ector County Nears Final Budget Approval For 2000 2001
The Ector County Commissioners Court plans to approve the 2000 2001 budget on Sept 28 with an 11 percent rise to 42 367 155 and no property tax increase. Judge Jerry Caddel says the conservatively balanced plan funds 580 employees and 13 jail staff positions, including pay raises. The budget reflects a $700 000 state grant for meteor crater renovations, and jail and sheriff enhancements, driving the growth in the general budget.
