Polygamous sect shocks schools as Colorado City area kids pulled out
Hundreds of members of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints pull children from public schools along the Utah Arizona line. About 350 students remain in four town schools, down from 1,400, as teachers quit and home schooling rises. Authorities note elders predict end times while church leaders deny fixed dates.
