Vandalisms damage cars in city investigation
Police investigated nine vandalism incidents Saturday night with six cars damaged. Denise J. Greene reported sugar poured in her gas tank on North Grandview. Sharon Parker said black shoe polish smeared on left car doors on Oakwood. J C Boone reported two pellet gun hits on his West 26th residence car. Alfredo Hinojos said a windshield was broken on his West 19th car.

Dr Grace Renee Ferguson of New Orleans was approved by the Texas Board of Mental Health and Mental Retardation as superintendent of the Big Spring State Hospital. The post had been vacant since Aug 18 1977 after Dr Wallace C Hunter resigned. Ferguson had joined the Texas Research Institute of Mental Sciences in 1975 and moved to private practice in Houston and later New Orleans.

Seven thefts were reported to city police Saturday night. Ginger Gobe said her wallet containing 360 dollars was taken from a bedroom closet while moving.
