Texans oppose key energy bill rule in House vote
In Washington, the Texas delegation voted 12-10 against the rule enabling the natural gas compromise to join four other energy measures. The 207-206 tally reflected a narrow margin, with several Texas Democrats and Republicans splitting. Lawmakers praised the slim win as clearing the path for final passage of energy legislation Carter plans to sign, though critics warned of regional cost burdens and regulatory reach.
