Paramedics face recertification under new law in Odessa
Odessa Fire Chief Bill Childress says about half the medics must recertify by January 1 to keep providing ambulance services under a new bill. The measure, sponsored by Sen. Lloyd Doggett, mostly changes recertification to every four years and allows trials in the violator’s home county. Eight or nine paramedics may need recertification. changes aim to ease retention concerns and limit mandatory internal studies.

Wind storms topple 13 mobile homes near Odessa
Severe thunderstorms produced high winds that overturned about 13 mobile homes in Pleasant Farms, 12 miles south of Odessa. No serious injuries were reported though a pregnant woman was treated after a trailer damage. Some residents sought shelter with friends or relatives as power lines and services were disrupted. Two funnel clouds were noted near Texas 302 and FM 1936 at about 6 25 p m.

Two Die in Flood and Mudslide Across Nevada and Utah
