Bible elective plan released for ECISD review
The ECISD superintendent announces a 2008 09 Bible elective curriculum now available for public review. Residents may view it at the Communications Department or on the district website until Thursday. The plan cites concerns of proselytizing and invites comments.

Deputy who arrested storm chaser released from Crane office
Crane County Sheriff Robert DeLeon announced that deputy Jeffery Ellison is no longer employed by the Crane County Sheriff's Office as of May 20, 2008, following an early May arrest of Oklahoma City storm spotter Brian Barnes. DeLeon cited a personal matter for Ellison's dismissal and did not discuss whether it followed a dispute with Barnes. Barnes, of Violent Skies Tours, faced a Class B misdemeanor charge for obstructing highway or passage after failing to report to the Crane Emergency Operations Center. he spent May 7 in Crane County Jail on bond set at $2,000. Efforts to reach both men were not successful.
