Kermit High School valedictorian dispute sparks clash over honors
The Kermit High School valedictorian decision divides the community over Dalia Carina Mendoza top GPA status. While some cite achievements and a barrier-breaking scholarship, others argue she did not meet all requirements. She cites dedication, scholarships, and the need to reward academic excellence over longevity. The board defended the current rules, noting change would affect others meeting all existing criteria.
