Woman reunites with hero who saved her life at library
Tears flowed as Josefina Tavarez met Jim Norton, the man who tied a belt around her leg to stop bleeding after an April 19 accident in front of Crockett Junior High. Tavarez, a 46 year old stepmother of two, expressed deep gratitude through a translator. Norton recalled his actions and the brave moment. The 14 year old Odessa girl accused in the crash remains in the Ector County Youth Center with a detention hearing set for June 7.
