Wholesale prices fall as energy helps PPI decline
The Labor Department reports a 0.1 percent April drop in wholesale prices driven by falling energy costs, marking the third decline in four months. Food prices rose 1.2 percent, the biggest gain in a year, while four monthly readings show a 3.7 percent drop for January–April versus 1982. The Fed notes 2.1 percent factory and mine output rise, the largest one month gain in eight years, seen as positive for the recovery. Energy prices fell 2.8 percent, the fifth straight monthly decrease.

Braniff’s revival plan on Hyatt deal outlined
